發(fā)送商務信函的目的在于建立商務往來關系,就某一細節(jié)進行商討,努力達成共識,以便促進一項商務活動的開展。要達到這些目的,首先必須保證閱讀者能夠清楚了解寫信人的意圖,迂回或閃爍其辭的話語會讓讀信人產生不信任,甚至會懷疑對方的語言表達能力,對進一步開展商務活動很不利。模棱兩可的話輕則阻礙讀信人對信函意思的理解,重則會對發(fā)函方造成不必要的損失。例如: as to the steamers sailing from hong kong to san francisco,we have bimonthly direct services. 此處bimonthly 有歧義,可以是twice a month 或者once two month.故讀信人就迷惑了,可以改寫為we have two direct sailings every month from hong kong to san francisco.

翻譯要保留原文的清晰度相當重要。由于在較為正式的場合中,為了將一概念定義完整和清楚,英文常常用關聯(lián)詞將幾個短句并在一起形成一個長句,而中文無法照樣只用一句話來翻譯,即使這樣譯了也很難達到通順和自然。這時,我們就采取將長句按特定的事情發(fā)展的順序拆分成兩個或兩個以上的小句子的方式來翻譯。必要時還要增加或省略一些詞語,讓整段文字結構更合理、內容更清楚。例如: the prices stated are based on current freight rates,any increase or decrease in freight rates at time of shipment is to be the benefit of the buyer,with the seller assuming the payment of all transportation charges to the point or place of delivery.例句中以一個介詞with 來分界,譯為“合同價格是以運費計算,裝運時運費的增減均屬買方。賣方則承擔至交貨地的全部運費”。在原文中with 分句是一個狀語,翻譯時采用中國人平鋪直敘的思維方式,用分述的方式把這個句子拆成兩句,清楚地表達了原文的語言信息。

是不是一封書信只要包含了全部關鍵信息就可以成為一封好的書信了呢? 擬信人還應注意語言組織的條理性,或按事情發(fā)展的先后順序,或按各要素的重要性排序編寫。東扯一句,西扯一句的寫法必定會影響文章的清晰度。

簡潔就是用最精煉的語言來表達意思,在商務信函中言簡意賅就是為了方便高效率溝通與工作。能用一個字表達的不用一個詞組,能一個詞組講清的事就不用講成一句話。商務信函不用因顧及禮貌而開頭就說“i hope you are well”( 近日可好?) ,天氣也從不在此中提及。我們用“now”不用“at the same time”; 用“though”而不用“in spite of the fact that”……。形容詞雖然可以表達友好、滿意、歉意等感情,但只是在十分必要的情況下才出現。中國人在寫英文信函時經常會出現一些不必要的重復,比如: “true facts”、“next time in the future”這樣的詞語讀者能懂,但是會對這種不地道的說法嗤之以鼻。

中文就簡潔這一點在很多情況下具有優(yōu)勢,商務信函中最能體現這一優(yōu)勢的是一些客套而必要的敬語,比如: “we are looking forward to your early reply”,翻譯成中文就五個字: “盼早日回復”; “with all kind regards,i remain”,中文為“祝好”。像“regards”、“wishes”這一類詞,都不用按照原意翻譯,祝好的英文句子大多用中文的俗語代替。

為了培養(yǎng)我們的創(chuàng)新精神和實踐能力,提高我們的綜合素質。進行了為期一周的實習,實習中我們互相學習和進步著。在實習期間,我們既要對理論知識進一步的學習,又要體會對商務英語應用中的實踐過程,真正切身感受本課程的實際應用。

一、實習目的

了解商務英語在社會和實際工作中的應用,豐富課程的內容,培養(yǎng)我們理論聯(lián)系實際的能力,提高在語言應用中分析及解決問題的實際能力。

二、實習要求

1、嚴格遵守實習作息時間。

2、自覺維護好課堂紀律。

3、自覺完成實習項目。

三、實習內容

(一)商務英語口語練習

1、建立商業(yè)關系通過一篇商務對話,了解了關于商務談判的過程,并對這篇對話進行了音標以及口語的練習。翻譯了英語的明信片,使我們認知英文的名片書寫過程。

2、商務談判繼商務談判的的對話,模擬業(yè)務續(xù)寫了英語對話,更提高了我們對商務談判的能力,對以后工作提供鋪墊。

(二)商務信函的書寫

在國際商務買賣的過程主要分為詢盤、發(fā)盤、還盤、接受四個環(huán)節(jié),其過程中最重要的便是商務信函的書寫,我們這次實習中主要對發(fā)盤的過程進行了練習。在老師的幫助下對發(fā)盤的發(fā)虛盤、發(fā)實盤的信函實例進行分析與解讀和翻譯,并對一些內容進行書寫練習,使我們掌握了英文信函的書寫方式、提升了書寫技巧。

(三)商務談判

在看完有關商務談判的視頻后,在老師的指導下,我們根據視頻中的談判,對其談判的案例進行分析。全面了解了談判的類型、談判時的重要因素、談判時注意的問題及談判時的信息搜索。談判對于商務進行是不可缺少的部分,充分了解談判的過程和技巧便更一步的促進了合作關系的達成。

(四)進出口貿易信函的分析和書寫

根據多篇的進出口貿易信函的閱讀及分析。對信函的英漢互譯,這不僅對我們英語知識的提高,而且認識了進出口貿易信函書寫的方式,在我們多次的練習中提升了寫作技巧,更為以后的工作節(jié)約了時間。

(五)商務報告

搜索最近發(fā)生的經濟事件,對事件進行分析與總結,并詳寫了我們自己的觀點。讓我們看事件來分析問題,曾進的不只是我們的觀點,更是我們對問題分析的能力。最后我們的這項實習任務,用英文的格式練習書寫了我們自己的簡歷,及招聘廣告的書信?,F在的社會大發(fā)展,英文已離不開我們的生活,這樣的實習鞏固的是我們的課程,也為我們以后的工作提供了極大的方便。
